Judy Klein

Judy Landrieu KleinJudy Landrieu Klein is a lay female Catholic theologian seeking to spread the truths of the Catholic faith through a dynamic teaching, writing and public speaking ministry.  A “revert” to Catholicism, Judy received a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies from the University of Dallas in the Jubilee Year 2000 and is currently a PhD candidate in Bioethics at the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical Athanaeum in Rome.  She is an adjunct professor of Theology at Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans and has taught “Morality and Science” and “Catholic Sexual Ethics” at the college during the past 6 years.

Judy received the mandatum from Archbishop Alfred Hughes in July, 2004 and is passionate about teaching the Catholic faith to others.  Having struggled to understand and embrace the doctrines of the Catholic Church after being an evangelical Christian, Judy is experienced in clarifying and explaining misunderstood areas of Church teaching, especially those concerning moral and bioethical issues. She has extensive experience as a teacher and presenter and has been the featured speaker at many faith-based events, including Magnificat Women’s Breakfasts, Legatus meetings, Theology on Tap and the Archdiocese of New Orleans’ Mother Daughter Human Sexuality Program.

Judy is also proficient in Catholic Apologetics and has taught Apologetics seminars in parishes throughout the New Orleans area.  Her experience as an apologist includes serving as co-host of Radio Maria’s “Apologetics Live” program for five years and writing the Defending the Faith column for Southern Renaissance Lay Catholic Journal. She is also the author of two catechetical instruction booklets for Ave Maria University’s Catholic Faith Explorer’s Series, namely Living Water: Understanding The Gift Of New Life Through Baptism (Ave Maria University, 2004) and Sez Who: Why Church Authority Established By Christ Is So Important To Us Today (Ave Maria University, 2003).

Judy co-founded Memorare Ministries with her late husband, Bernie; a ministry dedicated to evangelization through contemporary methods of communication including live and pre-recorded talks, concerts, CDs, DVDs, music videos, radio and print material. She has five children and one grandchild and resides in Mandeville, LA.
